Reza Ashrafi

 

Reza Ashrafi was born in Tehran, Iran. He received the B.S. and M.S degrees in electronics engineering from Shahid Rajaee University and Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2005 and 2007, respectively. From 2005 to 2007 he was working as a researcher in the Nanoelectronics Lab for his M.S. degree at Sharif University of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Bijan Rashidian. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree with the Ultrafast Optical Processing (UOP) group at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique–Energie, Matériaux et Télécommunications (INRS-EMT)–Université du Québec, (Montréal, Canada), working under the supervision of Prof. José Azaña.

He has to his credit 28 publications in top scientific journals and leading conferences, including 12 contributions in high-impact peer-review journals (IEEE, OSA). His recent research interests include photonic generation of ultra-wideband and microwave waveforms, ultrafast optical signal processing using periodic structures, including fiber Bragg gratings and long period gratings, and applications of advanced signal processing techniques to photonic signals and systems.
