Hamed Pishvai Bazargani


Hamed Pishvai Bazargani was born in Rasht, Iran.

He received his bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from University of Guilan and his Master’s degree in Optical Integrated Circuits design from University of Tabriz. During his Master program, he was working on the simulation and design of all optical demultiplexers using 12-fold photonic quasi-crystals under the supervision of Prof. Ali Rostami. He has been awarded James Watt Scholarship from University of Glasgow. In September 2011, he started his PhD degree at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) – Centre Energie Materiaux et Telecommunications in Montreal/Varennes (Quebec, Canada), taking part into the Ultrafast Optical Processing group, under the supervision of Prof. Jose Azaña. He received “Bourse de doctorat en recherche pour étudiants étrangers –FRQNT” from Quebec government for his PhD studies.

His research interests include, signal characterization for telecom applications, design and implementation of integrated photonic structures for signal processing and pulse shaping purposes.
