Mohammad H. Asghari


Mohammad H. Asghari received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from K.N.Toosi University of Technology (Tehran) in 2004 and his M.S. degree in optical communications from Sharif University of Technology (Tehran) in 2006.

He worked in the Ultrafast Optical Processing group at INRS-EMT for his PhD degree, working with Prof. Jose Azana. He is currently an NSERC post-doctoral fellow in Photonics Laboratory at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dr. Asghari is a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and the IEEE/LEOS. He was a reviewer for OSA Student Chapter Excellence Awards in 2012. Dr. Asghari was recently distinguished with the Award of Excellence from the General Director of INRS in 2012, the most prestigious prize from INRS awarded annually to one PhD and one MS graduates among all the Institute departments to recognize academic excellence. In 2011, he was included in the Honorary List of the Scientific Director at INRS, and he was separately awarded the International Exposure Prize from INRS, recognizing the impact of his research work on the international reputation of INRS. During his PhD, Dr. Asghari was holding an FQRNT doctoral fellowship for foreign students from the Quebec Government (Canada). He is also the recipient of the NSERC and FQRNT post-doctoral fellowships from the Government of Canada and Quebec Government, respectively.
